![]() The problem is in actually watching them as no Linux video player currently supports the M2TS video format. The camera itself is just a USB memory, so by just plugging it in, I can easily copy the video clips from the camcorder to my computer. These files are also present on Blu-ray disc compilations, therefore they are capable of storing quite a large amount of information and data tracks. Some camcorder models from Canon and Panasonic also use M2TS files. Now the only thing remaing is that neros not showing it in widescreen, which was the aspect ratio the video was recorded in.i m guessing ifoedit will do the trick, found this tip somewhere on the net. Unfortunately, the Sony camcorder utilities are not available for Linux. Camcorders make use of M2TS in the form of AVCHD, a recording format made specifically for camcorders. vro file had trouble playing in players like vlc that dont recognise th vr disc n start playing accodingly, like powerdvd does.powerdvd acts as if uv inserted a normal dvd.this was probably coz the vro file is segmented into scenes when it is recorded, thus might need some other files to guide it. Nero's done a pretty decent job for me.what i actually had in mind was to convert the vr/video formatted disc automatically via a standard option so that it may result in a fully compatible dvd video disc.i avoided the extension renaming coz even tho it contains an mpeg2 stream, the. righto.that pixela soft is a piece of crap When I discovered I could transfer straight from the discs and convert the vob to mpg, it saved me heaps of time and frsutration. If you're talking about the Pixela software, I stopped using that about a week after I got it with my handycam. Also Sony DVD camcorders come with software to convert to MPEG files.
